Grayson Goldin was five points from defeat at 10-5 down in the deciding game of the Skechers Shenzhen Open 2026 Men's Singles final. He saved match point and won seven points in a row to beat Hien Truong 4-11, 11-9, 12-10.

HIEN TRUONGGoldin had played three Asia stops before this one and lost in the round of 16 at all three, each time in three games and each time by two points in the decider: to Marco Leung at the Panas Malaysia Cup 2025, to Jimmy Liong Kai Long at the Sansan Tokyo Open, and to Mikar Larenzo Fisher at the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open. He had also suffered two strokes in February and temporarily lost his speech, and has spoken publicly about the recovery since.
Both triple crown bids ended on the same day
Tama Shimabukuro and Yu-Chieh Hsieh had both reached three semifinals. Goldin ended Shimabukuro's bid 11-8, 11-4 in the singles, though Shimabukuro still won the Mixed Doubles and took the singles bronze 11-7, 4-11, 15-13.
Hsieh lost all three of her semifinals in a day: the Women's Singles to Chao Yi Wang 11-6, 6-11, 13-11, the Women's Doubles alongside Albie Huang to Sophia Nhi Huynh and Ho Tam, and the Mixed Doubles with Luc Pham to Sahra Dennehy and Shimabukuro. She and Huang did win the Women's Doubles bronze 7-11, 11-7, 11-7.
Truong had reached the final by beating Adam Harvey 11-8, 6-11, 11-3. It was their third singles meeting in four weeks and Truong's first win of the three, after Harvey beat him from 9-1 down in the Singapore semifinal and again 11-4, 11-5 in Ho Chi Minh City.
A first Women's Doubles gold for Vietnam
Sophia Nhi Huynh and Ho Tam beat Lingwei Kong and Selina Turulja 11-9, 3-11, 11-6 to become the first Vietnamese pair to win a Women's Doubles gold on the PPA Tour Asia.
Another final lost for Kim and Wong
Eunggwon Kim and Hong Kit Wong had reached the Men's Doubles semifinals at six straight stops in 2026 and lost every one. They broke that run in Shenzhen by beating Shimabukuro and Joseph Wild 11-8, 11-7, then lost the final 11-7, 11-8 to Collin Johns and Len Yang.
Wang and Dennehy take the other two titles
Chao Yi Wang beat the reigning Tokyo champion Rika Fujiwara 11-4, 11-8 for the Women's Singles gold, having lost two previous singles finals in China. Sahra Dennehy, on her 23rd birthday, and Tama Shimabukuro won the Mixed Doubles 11-6, 11-1 against Huynh and Truong.
