PPA Tour Asia announced its first four stops of 2027 on Sunday October 25, the final day of the Hang Seng Bank Hong Kong Slam. All four are PPA Asia 500 events, worth 500 World Pickleball Ranking points to each champion. Thailand and the Philippines host the tour for the first time, with the Bangkok Open from January 27 to 31 and the Manila Open from February 24 to 28. Malaysia and Vietnam each get a fifth visit, with the Penang Open from March 16 to 20 and the Ho Chi Minh City Open from March 31 to April 4.
The four events close the Asia schedule before the PPA Finals at Life Time Rancho San Clemente in California, from May 10 to 16, 2027. The tour says more calendar announcements will follow. The rest of 2027 is still to come.

Official event pages on ppatour-asia.com: Bangkok Open 2027, Manila Open 2027, Penang Open 2027 and Ho Chi Minh City Open 2027. Each takes sign-ups for notice when registration and tickets open.
Bangkok and Manila are the eighth and ninth territories on the tour
Thailand and the Philippines become the eighth and ninth territories to host a main-tour stop. Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam and mainland China hosted in 2025, and Macao and Singapore joined in 2026. The Bangkok Open 2027 runs from Wednesday January 27 to Sunday January 31. The Manila Open 2027 follows four weeks later, from Wednesday February 24 to Sunday February 28.
Neither tournament page names a venue yet. Both carry the same two lines: 500 World Pickleball Ranking points for the champions, and a sign-up form for notice when registration opens and spectator tickets go on sale. Prize money has not been announced for either event.
The tour's announcement says new courts and clubs have been opening across Bangkok, and that the Bangkok Open will be the city's first look at Pro pickleball. Manila has seen more. Anna Leigh Waters visited the city in October 2026, and the Philippines already has a domestic franchise league, the Maharlika Pilipinas Pickleball Tour, which opened its first season in Angeles City the same month. ThePickleBase lists 155 approved courts in Metro Manila. Thailand is not yet in our courts directory.
Penang is Malaysia's first stop outside the Klang Valley
All four previous Malaysian stops were played in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur. The Panas Malaysia Open 2025 and the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open 2026 were at 9Pickle in Setia Alam, the Panas Malaysia Cup 2025 used 9Pickle and the Setia City Convention Centre, and the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup 2026 was at The Hood in Kuala Lumpur. The Penang Open 2027 runs from Tuesday March 16 to Saturday March 20, the only one of the four stops that finishes on a Saturday.
Stop | Dates | Venue | Tier and Pro purse |
|---|---|---|---|
Panas Malaysia Open 2025 | July 3 to 6, 2025 | 9Pickle, Setia Alam | Open, US$50,000 |
Panas Malaysia Cup 2025 | September 24 to 28, 2025 | 9Pickle and Setia City Convention Centre, Shah Alam | Cup, US$150,000 |
Panas Kuala Lumpur Open 2026 | May 13 to 17, 2026 | 9Pickle, Setia Alam | Asia 500, US$50,000 |
Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup 2026 | September 9 to 13, 2026 | The Hood, Kuala Lumpur | Asia 1000, up to US$300,000 |
Penang Open 2027 | March 16 to 20, 2027 | Not announced | Asia 500, purse not announced |
Penang's venue has not been named. ThePickleBase lists 67 approved courts in the state, 16 of them in Bukit Mertajam and 13 in George Town. The Tomaz Cup, played in Subang Jaya in August 2026, was a PPA Asia 125 event and does not count among the main-tour stops, which is why the tour calls Penang its fifth visit rather than its sixth.

Ho Chi Minh City hosts for the third time
Vietnam's four previous stops were the MB Vietnam Open 2025 at Global City Sports Park in Ho Chi Minh City, the MB Vietnam Cup 2025 at Tien Son Sports Arena in Da Nang, the MB Hanoi Cup 2026 at My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena, and the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 at New Sports Club in The Global City. The 2027 edition is the city's third event and runs from Wednesday March 31 to Sunday April 4, eleven days after Penang ends.
Stop | Dates | Venue | Tier and Pro purse |
|---|---|---|---|
MB Vietnam Open 2025 | September 4 to 7, 2025 | Global City Sports Park, Ho Chi Minh City | Open, US$50,000 |
MB Vietnam Cup 2025 | September 30 to October 4, 2025 | Tien Son Sports Arena, Da Nang | Cup, US$150,000 |
MB Hanoi Cup 2026 | April 1 to 5, 2026 | My Dinh Indoor Athletics Arena, Hanoi | Asia 1000, up to US$300,000 |

Ho Chi Minh City Open 2027 | March 31 to April 4, 2027 | Not announced | Asia 500, purse not announced |

The 2026 edition gave Vietnam a home gold. Hien Truong and Quan Do beat Hoang Nam Ly and Collin Johns 13-11, 6-11, 11-4 in the Men's Doubles final. Adam Harvey won the Men's Singles 11-4, 11-4 against Luc Pham, Andie Dikosavljevic won the Women's Singles and then the Women's Doubles with Yufei Long, and Hong Kit Wong and Lingwei Kong took the Mixed Doubles 11-4, 8-11, 11-9 against Nok Yiu Tang and Eunggwon Kim. ThePickleBase lists 428 approved courts in Ho Chi Minh City, more than in any other host city on the 2027 list so far.
What a PPA Asia 500 is worth
A PPA Asia 500 pays 500 World Pickleball Ranking points to each champion, the same as the seven Opens on the 2026 calendar. In 2026 those Opens carried US$50,000 in Pro prize money in Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo, and US$70,000 in Macao, Beijing, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City and Shenzhen. Above them sit the Asia 1000 Cups, which paid up to US$300,000 and 1000 points in Hanoi and Kuala Lumpur, and the Asia 1500 Hong Kong Slam, with up to US$1.1 million and 1500 points. A PPA Asia 125 series of smaller events runs alongside the main tour, and its Pro draws also earn PPA ranking points.
Tier | Points to each champion | 2026 Pro prize money | 2026 events |
|---|---|---|---|
PPA Asia 1500 (Slam) | 1500 | up to US$1,100,000 | Hong Kong Slam |
PPA Asia 1000 (Cup) | 1000 | up to US$300,000 | MB Hanoi Cup, Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup |
PPA Asia 500 (Open) | 500 | US$50,000 to US$70,000 | Kuala Lumpur, Macao, Beijing, Tokyo, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Shenzhen |
PPA Asia 125 | Earns ranking points, amount not published | Not published | PickleSlam (Singapore), Tomaz Cup (Subang Jaya) |
The 2027 purses have not been published. The four tournament pages state the points and nothing else.
The road to the PPA Finals
The announcement says the four stops complete the Asia schedule ahead of the PPA Finals, and that the top 8 men and women in the overall World Pickleball Rankings qualify for it. The PPA Tour's event page lists the 2027 Finals at Life Time Rancho San Clemente in San Clemente, California, from May 10 to 16, worth 2,000 ranking points in every division and a prize pool of US$1,648,641 across five Pro divisions, including appearance fees. Tickets are not yet on sale. The 2026 Finals ran at the same venue from May 4 to 10.
The gap is shorter than in 2026, when the Asia season did not open until the MB Hanoi Cup on April 1. Bangkok starts 94 days after the Hong Kong Slam final. The Ho Chi Minh City final is played 36 days before the Finals begin.
Common questions
When does the PPA Tour Asia 2027 season start?
The 2027 season starts with the Bangkok Open on Wednesday January 27, 2027, and the first four stops run through to the Ho Chi Minh City Open final on Sunday April 4. That is two months earlier than 2026, which opened in Hanoi on April 1. The 2026 season ends with the Hong Kong Slam on October 25.
Which countries are new on the 2027 calendar?
Thailand and the Philippines. The Bangkok Open 2027 from January 27 to 31 is the tour's first event in Thailand, and the Manila Open 2027 from February 24 to 28 is its first in the Philippines. They are the eighth and ninth territories to host a main-tour stop, after Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, mainland China, Macao and Singapore.
Is this the full 2027 calendar?
No. PPA Tour Asia has announced four stops and says more calendar announcements are coming. The four complete the Asia schedule before the PPA Finals in May 2027. The 2026 calendar had ten main-tour stops across seven markets, plus the Asia 125 series, so the second half of 2027 should bring more.
What is a PPA Asia 500 event?
A PPA Asia 500 is the tour's Open tier, worth 500 World Pickleball Ranking points to each champion. It sits below the Asia 1000 Cups, which pay 1000 points, and the Asia 1500 Slam, which pays 1500. In 2026 the Asia 500 Opens carried US$50,000 to US$70,000 in Pro prize money.
How much prize money will the 2027 stops offer?
The tour has not said. The four tournament pages list 500 ranking points and no purse. The seven Asia 500 Opens in 2026 paid US$50,000 or US$70,000 in Pro prize money. Until the official figures appear, that is the range to expect.
Can amateur players enter the 2027 events?
Registration is not open yet, and the tournament pages invite players to sign up for a notice when it opens. Every stop so far has run amateur age and rating categories alongside the Pro draws, including the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 and the Hong Kong Slam, so expect the same format in 2027.
Where will the Bangkok, Manila and Penang events be played?
No venues have been announced for any of the four 2027 stops. Ho Chi Minh City's two previous events were at Global City Sports Park in 2025 and New Sports Club in The Global City in 2026. Penang, Bangkok and Manila have never hosted the tour, so there is no previous venue to go on.
How do players qualify for the PPA Finals?
The announcement says the top 8 men and women in the overall World Pickleball Rankings qualify for the PPA Finals, which run from May 10 to 16, 2027 at Life Time Rancho San Clemente in California. The PPA Tour's page values a Finals title at 2,000 ranking points in every division, with a prize pool of US$1,648,641 across five Pro divisions.
Who won the last PPA Tour Asia event in Ho Chi Minh City?
At the MB Ho Chi Minh City Open 2026 in August, Adam Harvey won the Men's Singles, Andie Dikosavljevic the Women's Singles, Hien Truong and Quan Do the Men's Doubles, Dikosavljevic and Yufei Long the Women's Doubles, and Hong Kit Wong and Lingwei Kong the Mixed Doubles. Every result is in our Championship Sunday report, linked below.
Has PPA Tour Asia been to Penang before?
No. The Penang Open 2027 is the tour's fifth Malaysian stop and its first outside the Klang Valley. The previous four were the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, the Panas Malaysia Cup 2025, the Panas Kuala Lumpur Open 2026 and the Leapmotor Kuala Lumpur Cup 2026, all in Setia Alam or Kuala Lumpur.
