Editorial standards
ThePickleBase covers pickleball across Asia: tournament results, the tours and leagues, the players, the clubs and the gear. This page sets out how we do that work, so you can judge what you read here.
Who is responsible
ThePickleBase is an independent team based in Malaysia, run by its co-founders Grace Lim, Ian Ng and Adrian Lee. Every story carries a byline: the writer responsible for it, or ThePickleBase for stories produced by the team as a whole. More about us is on the about page.
Where our facts come from
Scores, draws and standings come from the official results published by the tour or the organiser running the event. Where an official bracket and a press release disagree, we go with the bracket.
Quotes are attributed to the person who said them, either to us or in a statement they published. We say where information came from when it is not our own reporting.
Ratings and rankings are labelled with their source and the date they were taken, because they change week to week.
Money and independence
Advertising and brand partnerships pay for this work. Paid placements and sponsored content are labelled as such on the page where they appear. Advertisers do not review or approve our coverage before it is published.
Some product links are affiliate links: if you buy through one, the retailer may pay us a commission. It does not change the price you pay, and it does not decide which products we write about.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes, and we want to know when we do. If a score, a name, a date or anything else in a story is wrong, tell us on the contact page or email hello@thepicklebase.com, with a link to the story.
We fix factual errors as soon as we have checked them. When a correction changes the meaning of a story, we add a note at the end of the article saying what was changed. Live coverage is updated as events happen, and each update carries its own time.
