Jamie Haas and Quan Do closed Championship Court on the opening day of the Skechers Shenzhen Open 2026, and they needed three games to do it. They lost the first game of their Mixed Doubles round of 32 before beating Kwan Wun Man and Chenyuan Ma 9-11, 11-7, 11-4.
Kwan and Ma had reached the Mixed Doubles semifinals at the Capital Securities Beijing Open earlier in the season, so the draw had put two strong pairs together in the first round.
Hendershot and Kim also recover
Elsie Hendershot, 13, lost the first game to Yingyi Yang and came back to win her Women's Singles round of 32 8-11, 11-2, 11-4. Eunggwon Kim did the same against the local player He Phoenix, winning 5-11, 11-7, 11-9.
Two qualifiers keep going
Jose Maria Pague backed up his qualifying run by beating Marco Leung 11-5, 11-9 to reach the Men's Singles round of 16. Harrison Brown did the same, beating Jimmy Liong Kai Long 9-11, 11-7, 11-9.
