Le Xuan Duc closed the opening day of the Leapmotor Singapore Open 2026 by beating Hsieh Chen-An 11-4, 11-0 on Championship Court, after two qualifying wins earlier the same day.
The result equalled the 18-year-old's best Men's Singles run on the tour, having reached the round of 16 at both the MB Vietnam Open 2025 and the Hong Kong Open 2025. Eighth seed Marco Leung was next.
Mendoza gets through qualifying for the first time
George Patrick Mendoza came through qualifying and won a main-draw match for the first time on the PPA Tour Asia, beating Aryaan Bhatia 12-10, 11-2.
A Beijing result reversed
Kaitlynn Hart and Harrison Brown had beaten Kei Sawaki and Kenta Miyoshi 12-10, 11-8 in the round of 32 at the Capital Securities Beijing Open weeks earlier. The same four met in the same round in Singapore, and Sawaki and Miyoshi won 12-10, 4-11, 11-9.
