Chao Yi Wang and Sahra Dennehy each reached three finals at the Capital Securities Beijing Open 2026, and the draw put them opposite each other in all three. Both went into the final day able to win a triple crown, and only one of them could.
Wang beat Yufei Long 11-7, 11-9 and Dennehy beat Lingwei Kong 11-3, 11-3, so both Chinese players went out at the semifinal stage. It set up a repeat of the Hangzhou final, which Dennehy had won 11-7, 11-2.
The same two names in the doubles finals
Aiko Yoshitomi and Wang, a first-time pairing, beat Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall and Nok Yiu Tang 11-6, 11-5. Dennehy and Yufei Long had a harder route, recovering from 5-10 down and three game points to take the first 12-10 and the second by the same score against Albie Huang and Christa Gecheva. The Mixed Doubles final paired Wang and Len Yang against Dennehy and Joseph Wild.
Two very different men's semifinals
Zane Ford beat Harrison Brown 11-3, 11-6 to end the qualifier's run. Hong Kit Wong beat Hien Truong 11-7, 11-6, which took his head-to-head record against Truong to 4-1.
Another semifinal loss for Kim and Wong
The top Men's Doubles seeds led before Kenta Miyoshi and Robert Stirling recovered from 7-2 down in the second game to win 8-11, 11-8, 11-3. Miyoshi and Stirling met Hien Truong and Quan Do in the final, after Truong and Do beat Zefeng Li and Nicholas Wiseman 11-9, 11-2.
