Dikosavljevic and Wong lead the singles draws
Andie Dikosavljevic headed the Women's Singles draw after a bronze at the PPA Tour Australia Pickleball Open in January and two singles golds on the Australian tour. Yufei Long arrived having won the PPA Challenger title in Baton Rouge.
Hong Kit Wong topped the Men's Singles draw after winning both the Gold Coast Slam and the Tweed Heads Cup singles titles, and entered the Men's Doubles with Eunggwon Kim, the partner he had won his first professional doubles title with.
Two Malaysians back from three months in the United States
Jimmy Liong and Mia Athilla played at home days after returning from a three-month training block in the United States on the UPA Asia Trailblazers programme.
Athilla, quoted on the official tour site: "I want to show that pickleball is not just fun sports and that it can be a sport that you can make a living from in Asia."
Partners turned opponents in the Women's Doubles
Yufei Long and Ting Chieh Wei had reached the Orange County Cup quarterfinals together in the United States weeks earlier, beating the fourth seeds Jorja Johnson and Lacy Schneemann. In Malaysia they were in opposite halves: Wei with Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall, Long with Mihae Kwon.
