Singapore to Host Its First PPA Tour Asia Event This July

Updated 3 min read

The PPA Tour Asia is heading to Singapore for the first time. The PPA Asia 500 Singapore Open is set for 23 to 26 July 2026 at The Sports Arina@Expo, making it the sixth stop on the 2026 PPA Tour Asia calendar.

The tournament carries a US$70,000 prize pool and 500 PPA ranking points, matching the prize money on offer at previous 500-tier stops such as the PANAS Kuala Lumpur Open and the Macao Open.

Like other stops on the PPA Tour Asia, the Singapore Open will run both professional and amateur divisions under one roof. On the pro side, players will compete in Men's Singles, Women's Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, and Mixed Doubles. Amateur players can enter across multiple skill brackets (below 3.5 and 3.5+) and age groups (Under 18, 19+, 35+, and 50+).

Registration opens on 28 April 2026 through the official PPA Tour Asia website. Tickets for spectators are expected to be made available through SISTIC closer to the event.

Singapore's pickleball community has grown quickly over the past few years, and this announcement signals that the country is now firmly part of the regional professional circuit. Singaporean pro Ryan Ng, who is part of the UPA Asia Trailblazers Programme, welcomed the news.

"Hosting a PPA Tour Asia event in Singapore shows that we are now part of the global professional circuit. This kind of exposure will boost visibility for pickleball here, inspire younger players, and help raise the overall standard in Singapore," - Ryan Ng

Local player Charles Yong, who took gold in the Pro Men's Singles category at PickleSlam 2026 earlier this year, is another name to watch. Players who performed well at sanctioned events like PickleSlam can move directly into the professional draw at the Singapore Open, creating a genuine local pathway into the international circuit.

How Singapore Fits Into the 2026 PPA Tour Asia Season

The 2026 PPA Tour Asia kicked off earlier this year and has already taken the tour through Kuala Lumpur and Macao. We covered both stops here on ThePickleBase, including the five-day run at 9Pickle Setia Alam for the PANAS Kuala Lumpur Open and the Macao Open at Cotai Expo inside The Venetian.

Singapore is the sixth stop on the calendar. UPA Asia managing director Kimberly Koh noted that the 2026 calendar reflects the strong momentum pickleball is building across the region, and Singapore was a natural fit given its sports infrastructure and fast-growing player base.
