Singapore’s hotels are leaning hard into pickleball. From Marina Bay to Orchard Road, properties have added courts, lessons, and even tournaments to capture demand from locals and travelers hooked on the fast-growing paddle sport.
At The Fullerton Bay Hotel (https://www.fullertonhotels.com/fullerton-bay-hotel-singapore/facilities/pickleball), players can now reserve a rooftop pickleball court perched above One Fullerton—skyline views included. Staying guests book for S$40 per hour, with non-staying guests paying the same court fee plus a S$20 minimum spend on services, according to the hotel’s website.
On Stevens Road, Novotel (https://www.novotel-singapore-stevens.com/) and Mercure Singapore on Stevens (https://www.mercure-singapore-stevens.com/)—a dual-hotel complex—converted seldom-used outdoor tennis courts into pickleball courts now managed by Anytime Fitness. Since launch, bookings have surged 30%, with more than half coming from non-staying guests, The Straits Times reported. Demand peaks in the evenings and on weekends, said Piotr Kupiec, general manager, who added that inquiries now include whether the court dimensions could accommodate tournament play. The craze has entered life moments, too: a couple who celebrated their wedding at Novotel requested a court-side photo shoot to mark their shared hobby.
Luxury is in the mix. Four Seasons Hotel Singapore (https://www.fourseasons.com/singapore/) reconfigured one outdoor tennis court into one pickleball and one padel court—an uncommon pairing in city hotels. Tatler Asia called the new space “an elegant escape just off Orchard Road, and a serene setting for play.” Since the conversion, bookings across tennis, pickleball, and padel have risen 37%, said Peter Draminsky, the hotel’s regional vice-president and general manager. The property also staged its first two-day pickleball and padel tournament in August.
