Malaysia’s pickleball calendar gains another marquee entry when the Kingtek International Pickleball Tournament 2025 serves off at Shah Alam’s Grand Pickleball Arena on August 16–17 with a total purse of RM100,000 in cash and equipment.
Open Invite, Three Divisions
The event welcomes all players aged 18 and above, grouping entrants into Novice, Intermediate and Open tiers to ensure level competition across men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Registration is open through 10 August and is handled through the Baseline app and Kingtek’s social channels.
Six-figure Purse, Tiered Rewards
Kingtek will award RM5,000 and two premium K09 paddles to each Open champion pair, while Intermediate and Novice champions receive RM3,000 and RM2,000 respectively, along with gear and medals. The six-figure prize pool combines cash, trophies and top-line equipment across all nine brackets.
Baseline Tech Underpins Pperations
Kuala Lumpur-based Baseline supplies the tournament-management software, live scoring and seeding tools that underpin many Southeast Asian racquet-sport events, allowing organizers to publish draws and results in real time.
Malaysia’s Rapid Rise Continues
The Kingtek meet follows the CelcomDigi WPC Asia Grand Slam, which attracted 1,500 players from 20 nations to Petaling Jaya in July, underscoring Malaysia’s emergence as a regional hub for the sport.
Industry analysts project that sustained event hosting, coupled with expanding court infrastructure, could see Malaysia overtake South Korea as Asia’s quickest-expanding pickleball market within two years.
Success in Shah Alam would strengthen Malaysia’s case to host future continental championships and reinforce the country’s position at the center of Asia’s pickleball boom.
