Closing the Weekend

Speaking at the prize-giving ceremony, Oriental Daily Sdn Bhd director of editorial coordination Pattrik Ting thanked the tournament's sponsors for making the event possible. He highlighted Gold Sponsors redONE Mobile and Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre, alongside Agrobank, Honda Malaysia, and RHB Insurance.

Malaysia Pickleball Association ad-hoc committee member Datuk Dr Wan Khalik Wan Mohamed pointed to the junior turnout as a sign of the sport's trajectory. He noted that pickleball is no longer just for older adults and expressed hope that the game could eventually feature at the SEA Games, Asian Games, or the Olympics:

“Many people still see pickleball as a sport for older adults, but the strong participation from children and young players here shows the sport is growing. This is a positive sign for pickleball,”

With 40 pairs in the Men's Doubles Intermediate alone and seven categories contested across three days, the ODN Malaysia Open 2026 made its case as one of the biggest domestic pickleball events the country has seen.
